The winery

The 10 hectares of vines at Tenuta di Frà spread out like a lush green fan. Seamless. Soft. Gripping. Enthroned on the hill, architecturally reduced.

The most important autochthonous grape varieties of the Marche, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba are at home here. Alongside Merlot and Montepulciano.
The entire vineyard is BIO CERTIFIED and we are particularly proud of this!

The story

It was gut feeling and luck. Almost “opposite” our Suites & Breakfast Poggio Antico spread like a lush green fan the 10 ha of vines. Seamlessly. Soft. Poignant. Enthroned in the lap, architecturally reduced, the charming Tenuta di Fra’. Small and simple.

Sun-kissed, the fertile soil shows a lot of minerality, fruit and honest terroir.

Terrain

35% sand – 35% mud – 30% clay – with a pH of 6.5. Orientation southwest, so the vines are exposed to optimal sunlight. The ground, with ideal drainage and deep water reservoir, promotes vertical root growth. Strong vines are the result.

Climate

The Marche, also known as Italy in a region, is the queen of Italy, as the Apennines meet the sea and the south meets the north. The climate is sub-continental with clear climatic changes in the seasons: hot summers with little precipitation and cold winters with regular rainfall.
